And now I'm left alone again
Nowhere to turn, no one to go to
Without a home, without a friend
Without that hope they all can renew
The empty bottles all drawn near;
I pray for the numbness I hold dear
Sometimes I stumble through the streets
When everybody else is sleeping
I'm losing focus and sensation
But the bitterness I'm keeping
He spoke of black and red
The words still ring inside my head
On my own
Pretending he's beside me
All alone
I walk with him 'til morning
Without him
I drink away my sorrows
Until all I see is him and me
At least until tomorrow
In this haze
The pavement shines like silver
All the lights are misty like the river
In my vision
His eyes are full of starlight
And I can see him holding me to scare away the shivers
And I know
And I'm all the more resigned
That it's the drink that's talking to me
And not him
And although
It's only Patria in his mind
Still I say
There's a way for us
I love him
But when sobriety ends illusion
He is gone
To plan his revolution
Without him
The world around me changes-
My feelings bare
But no one's there to see them but the strangers
I love him
But on highs, I grasp at solutions
And all the drinks
Are just poor substitutions
Without me
He has his revolution
In a world that's full of light and hope
That I have never known
I love him
I love him
I love him
But only on my own
Nowhere to turn, no one to go to

Jehan Prouvaire
On his knees
And forced to be blind
Breathing copper air
He makes no pleas
To those left behind
Brave Jehan Prouvaire
He lived for revolution
And spoke words of gold
Blood covers clothes and hair
He was part of the solution
Believed what he was told
Word master Jehan Prouvaire
He shouts as if confessing
Before the coming night
The break his stride was a dare
To deny what he's professing
Knew that he was in the right
Noble Jehan Prouvaire
A shot rang out
as if angels sing
The executioner does not care
The dead man's friends shout
and the echoes ring -
the final words of Jehan Prouvaire

They Are Les Miserables
My lover died in the arms of un-remembrance,
Leaving me a lark in his place,
Leaving me no more need of him.
The hypocrite was taken by the river,
In a deliberate act of ironic selfishness,
And as he fell, he dreamed.
The boy fell at the hand of the merciless street,
Strewn between bodies,
Just another child who did not live to see the morning.
The young blood went with the eyes of his beholder,
Who is also known as the man who loved and believed in him,
They faded with no more than a histrionic sigh in a forgotten flash of red.
The battered rose slipped away in the arms of one who never saw,
The rain didn't hurt her but the woun

wow the sads. Beenin a real Grantaire frame of mind lately, so here. Sorry to bum you out guys. But I guess I'm actually kind of proud of this...? Excuse you, Eponine die-hards but Grantaire's love is just as tragic and him and Ep' should just get together and form a lonely hearts club. They would just complain to each other about their boys all the time and cry over sad songs and drinks.
Yet another AU I demand. Fandom, why are you so slow on the draw?
Clearly the original song isn't mine. Hence the title 'parody'. So don't bug me about that.
